Digitalization of the Agricultural Economy in the Krasnodar Territory

Abstract

AbstractOne of the strategic goals of developing the agricultural economy is its digital transformation. Therefore, the study and evaluation of its level in the regions are relevant in today’s environment. The paper focuses on the main directions of the digitalization of the agricultural economy in the Krasnodar Territory. The authors apply the methods of monographic and economic-statistical analysis and use the results of theoretical and practical research of the authors of relevant publications. The paper describes the role of the Krasnodar Territory in the agricultural production of the Russian Federation and its position in the key ratings in assessing the level of digitalization of agriculture. The Krasnodar Territory is one of the country’s leaders in terms of the pace of digitalization. The analysis of the use of digital technologies of precision agriculture in agricultural organizations allowed us to estimate the place of the Krasnodar Territory in Russia on the indicators of implementation of precision agriculture and precision livestock breeding technologies, consider the intensity of its application, and determine the dynamics of implementation of various elements of these technologies. Such elements of precision farming technologies as systems of parallel driving, digitization of fields, and satellite monitoring of vehicles are the most used in the agricultural economy of the region. We considered the examples and the effect of their use on specific farms in the region. The main directions of research development in the Krasnodar Territory in the field of precision agriculture systems are reflected.
