Abstract
Introduction of currently operating Outotec Digital solutions, such as the Roaster Optimizer, detailing experiences collected during the recent years of operation and its impact on the installed process train. These upstream experiences have led us to a focus on the downstream impacts on the gas cleaning and sulfuric acid plant. This has prompted us into further development of Outotec’s existing PORS system to cover these issues, which was originally was intended as an operator support tool without direct process interaction. Latest PORS developments will be described in detail, showing the way forward towards a gas cleaning and acid plant optimizer module. The presentation will also consider how we could further harness the power of digitalization (and what we believe this could mean for the acid industry in planning, operation and maintenance) as well considering the potential of a (future) autonomous acid plant.
