Abstract

Digital technology has completely reshaped the way we diagnose, treat, and follow-up our orthodontic patients. Tools such as digital models from intraoral scanners, 3D facial images and CBCTs have enlarged our diagnostic possibilities, still with some limitations. Following diagnosis, orthodontic treatments can now benefit largely from CAD/CAM approaches. These completely new workflows need to be integrated into postgraduate teaching, at the cost of certain challenges, which will be discussed.
