Abstract
The key technology of digital video surveillance System is discussed,including compression stardard,transmission channel and bandwidth,transmission protocol.A digital video surveillance system based on fast Ethernet is proposed then.It comprises functions of video coding and decoding,network transmission,video storage and playback,vidicon remote control,alarm by motion detection.It adopts video coding by hardware and fast Etnernet techineques,so its picture quality and frame rate are far better than those systems based on PSTN and video coding by software.
