The article deals with the information and communication technologies to support the process of English language learning for those in secondary education. There has been a tremendous growth of information communication technologies across the world in the last years. The research gives an overview of the benefits of using digital technologies when studying English within secondary school. This investigation examines the use of digital approaches, interactive technologies, educational programs and internet resources for secondary English language teaching and learning. The majority of secondary teachers use digital technologies to prepare their lessons for the study of English. Among them are wiki, podcasts, screencasts, personal learning networks, digital storytelling, a private social network, computers, mobile phones etc.The author explores the potential of computers, talking books, talking photo albums, digital games, and virtual worlds. The introduction of Web 2.0 tools can be used to challenge the problem of education informatization under the supervision of a confident teacher in the English language learning, which allows users to create and distribute their own content on the Internet. Needless to say that the effective strategy depends on many factors: the age of the children, availability of resources, the school context, the competency of the teacher, etc.As a matter of fact, many secondary teachers are using readily available, free online materials and tools on the Internet. In addition, they are finding out how to use them through social networks and online communities of practice. These teachers build their own personal learning network, which help them to connect with other teachers around the world to share their ideas and strategies. For this reason, modern information and communication technologies provide active, creative mastery of students of new material and allow putting educational material on a new qualitatively higher level. Additionally, their application opens up fundamentally new opportunities in the organization of the educational process.
