Abstract

The recent global changes in the environment around us imply that the physical and digital worlds are becoming increasingly impacting. Digital technologies are progressively influencing industrial, agricultural, scientific, medical, educational, and other operations, as more and more aspects of daily life shift online. The application of environmental digital technologies in the context of global and national environmental monitoring, improving the safety of industrial firm operations, and enhancing environmental sustainability is a pressing necessity on the planet. Digital sobriety can be a solution for reducing digital pollution by requiring all digital players, whether customers, industry professionals, or public actors, to adjust their behaviour in order to assure the development of a sober, responsible, and ecologically ethical digital industry.
