Abstract

AbstractKorea is a country with the history of more than five thousand years and with various cultural heritages. Damages to previous cultural properties from disasters and weathering are very significant problem. As a government policy, Korea Cultural Heritage has been performing accurate measurements on structures and properties for many years in order to preserve and restore these precious assets. This study is about 3D measurement and modeling on Korean cultural properties. For this, digital terrestrial photogrammetry and laser scanning were done, and more efficient measuring method was considered depending on the condition of sites. The result of the modeling was satisfactory and can be used not only for restoration and preservation of cultural properties, but as a data for cyber museum. Furthermore, it will be used as a useful data that can be immediately put to the property database when establishing a cultural property GIS.Keywordscultural propertiescultural heritageArcheological photogrammetry3D modelinglaser scanningproperties restoration
