Digital Modeling in Railway Infrastructure and Rolling Stock Objects at all Stages Life Cycle: Features

Abstract

Digital modelling has become used in complex engineering structures design. However, the digital modelling application is much wider than a simple design. This technology can be applied at all stages of the technical object’s life cycle. The authors focus on the possibilities of digital modelling in the use at all the life cycle stages of infrastructure facilities and rolling stock in railway transport. A conceptual model is presented, and the main advantages of using the described technology at all life cycle stages of technical objects are noted. Separately, the need for the use of digital modelling technologies in the field of train control systems and railway automation is noted.
