Normal 0 21 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 The information and communication technologies (ICT) have enabled new forms of implementation of activities and services offered by libraries. Digital libraries focuses on the design of an information system to identify, locate, seek and provide users with the information they need. The aim was to investigate the development of digital libraries in order to identify patterns and trends in their designs to provide the service to the diverse needs of users. The research is qualitative in that are considered and analyzed aspects and characteristics of some digital libraries. We selected some digital libraries whose web sites were consulted in order to identify characteristics and development experiences.
