Abstract
The 21st century is the century of digitalization. In this epoch of the digital revolution, the Government of India has taken up a tremendous challenge to make its services accessible to every citizen of India through a digital medium. According to Census 2011, there were 664369 villages in India, intending to provide online systems and internet connectivity in the outlying areas of the country which seeks to connect the nation's economic transactions digitally. There are many obstacles in this digital revolution. Especially poor infrastructure, lack of digital instruments, low internet speed, non-availability of digital services in local languages, fear of cybercrime, slow and overdue infrastructure advancement. If all these problems are deciphered then India will be a digital nation. This paper seeks to shed light on the challenges and opportunities facing the Digital India Program.
