Abstract

A new controller design using Optimal Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) Control is proposed in this paper for a power factor correction Sheppard-Taylor converter. This control design employs a state-feedback designed with pole-placement technique. After linearizing the state-space model for the converter, it will be discretized and controllability, observability and stability matrices will be calculated. The digital controller will be designed for the converter using LQ control with state-feedback after then. Simulation results using MATLAB/Simulink show the effectiveness of the proposed system.
