Abstract
Does a male courting behavior proximately cause polyandry in a fruit fly species? Minekawa etal. found that in Drosophila prolongata, male flies vibrate their legs to overcome female remating suppression, resulting in multiple matings for females that otherwise may have remained monandrous.
