Abstract

The e-Science paradigm is transforming the way we do scientific research in the social sciences, due to the evolution of the dynamics of scientific collaboration and adoption of new technologies and digital tools that intensify scientific difussion. This research in aimed to know the current status of diffusion 2.0 in the field of communication studies in Ibero-America. A total of 79 journals belonging to the network Confibercom of scientific journals in communication (REVISCOM) were examined using a content analysis. According to data, the use of most of the surveyed tools was scare. However, there evidence of early adoption of networks such as Facebook or Twitter. Our analysis reveals that the adoption of web 2.0 in the journals is related to their impact factor, but not to their degree of scientific collaboration.
