Abstract
Internal diffusion controlled ion exchange rate data for both forward and reverse exchanges of the Sr 2+−Na +−DOWEX 50W-X8 system are reported. Observations on the self exchange rates for Sr 2+ and Na + ions are also presented. Interpretation of the rate data with both a Fick's law model and a Nernst—Planck model was accomplished. A modification to the more theoretically correct Nernst—Planck model has been proposed.
