Abstract

The study aims to experimentally investigate the diffusion behavior of an expanding polymer grouting material in sand, gravel, and a sand-gravel mixture. In situ grouting tests were performed using the hole-sealing grouting method. Diffusion characteristics of the polymer grouted in the sand are analyzed through numerical analysis, and the results show that diffusion mainly depends on the size of pores and particles of the medium. In terms of the diffusion pattern, the loose medium mainly exhibited penetration and diffusion, while splitting diffusion occurred in finer grained media.
