Abstract

When industrial by-products are used for concrete materials in terms of effective utilization of resources, there is a possibility to leach heavy metal ions from concrete structures. It has been well known that concrete has a high capability to fix heavy metal ions, but the evaluation method of heavy metal leaching from concrete has not been established. In this study, to understand the primary leaching behavior of the heavy metal from concrete structures, a diffusion test and an adsorption test were performed. In the diffusion test, little diffusion of lead ions was observed, which suggests that lead ions in pore solution have been almost adsorbed to the cement hydrates. In the adsorption test, adsorption characteristics of each cement hydrate were different.
