Abstract

The equilibrium defect structure of nonstoichiometric Fe 1− δ O single crystals has been studied by diffuse neutron scattering, for T ⩽ 1423 K and 0.054 ⩽ δ ⩽ 0.13. The scattering is modeled by Kanzaki forces and a Fourier analysis. Real space simulation of the short-range order yields typical defect cluster-size distributions.
