Abstract
A 39-year-old male was admitted to the emergency room because of syncope, tearing chest pain with cold sweating, and finally shock. CT imaging ruled in splenic laceration with active bleeding. Emergent exploratory laparotomy was then performed and revealed spontaneous rupture of the spleen. Spontaneous rupture of the spleen is an uncommon, life-threatening abdominal condition that requires immediate diagnosis and surgical treatment to ensure the patient's survival. In the end, the patient was diagnosed with diffuse large B cell lymphoma and staged with FDG PET/CT scan.
