Abstract
Diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) is a rare aggressive brainstem tumour that primarily affects children. No treatment prolongs survival besides palliative radiotherapy. Median survival remains at about 10 months, and 2-year survival is less than 10%. Although our understanding of the biology of DIPG has substantially improved, the many clinical trials done have led to no therapeutic progress so far.
