Abstract
The complex tungsten-bronze type of polycrystalline samples of Pb5LaTi3−xZrxNb7−xO30(x=0, 1, 2 and 3) were prepared by a high-temperature solid-state reaction technique. Room temperature preliminary X-ray diffraction (XRD) studies of the compounds shows the formation of a single phase compounds in an orthorhombic crystal structure. Studies of dielectric constant (˜) of the above compounds as a function of temperature (25°C to 375°C) at 10 kHz exhibit a ferroelectric phase transition of diffuse type. With increasing Zr concentration (x), transition temperature (Tc) as well as dielectric constant decreases. Temperature variation of dc resistivity/conductivity show that these compounds exhibit negative temperature coefficient of resistance (NTCR) at high temperature.
