Abstract
We suggest an overlap between the perturbative QCD and Regge models for thediffractive photoproduction of strangeness and possibly charm, and support it by explicit comparison between the model predictions. This enables us to estimate some of the QCD model parameters-most notably the gluon x distribution over the region 0 ⩽ x ⩽ 0.1.
