Abstract

Present augmented reality and virtual reality displays are facing technical challenges in inadequate angular resolution, limited field-of-view, vergence-accommodation conflict, and low optical efficiency. In this paper, we propose to use new diffractive liquid crystal deflectors and lenses to mitigate these issues for near-eye displays.
