Abstract

The diffraction of a plane wave by a dielectric layer filled with a nonlinear medium is considered. The layer is located between two half-spaces with constant permittivities. Two widely used types of nonlinearities (Kerr nonlinearity and nonlinearity with saturation) are considered. The problem is to find amplitudes of reflected and transmitted fields. An amplitude of the incident field is supposed to be known. The analytical and numerical solution techniques are developed. Numerical results are presented.
