Abstract

Image reconstruction from holograms containing amplitude and phase gratings shifted relative to each other is considered. It is shown that, both for these shifted gratings and for gratings recorded in the same volume, the diffraction efficiency of holograms is different for reconstruction by the reference wave and by the signal wave. The dependence of this asymmetry on the relative shift and the amplitudes of the gratings is investigated, and conditions are determined for only one of the recorded waves to be reconstructed.
