Abstract
The diffraction characteristics of resonant x-ray transition radiation of ultra-relativistic particles in perfect crystals are studied. It is shown that the intensity of the x-ray quantum near the boundary of diffraction reflection is determined by the fourth power of the thickness of a diffractionally thick sample. The maximum of the spectral distribution of the radiation with normal polarization occurs at the minimum of the spectral distribution for parallel polarization. In the collinear geometry the maximum of the spectral distribution of the radiation of ultrarelativistic particles exceeds the corresponding values of the spectral distribution of the usual resonant transition radiation without diffraction by a factor of 10/sup 4/, and its position is independent of the energy of the particle. The high monochromaticity of the radiation is noted.
