Abstract
The article covers the difficult events Russian language teachers face during teaching the theme «Vowel Gradation in Word Root». The roots with o / a gradations are considered in the article such as -gar-/-gor- , -zar-/-zor- , -klan-/-klon- , -tvar-/-tvor- , -lag-/-lozh- , -kas-/-kos- , -rast-/-rashch-/-ros- , -skak-/-skoch- , -ravn-/-rovn- , -mak-/-mok-. The special attention is paid to the analysis of rule definitions from the different years guidebooks since the Rules of Russian Orthography and Punctuation set in 1956 by Academy of Sciences. The recommendations on material systematization necessary for the correct theme presentation at the lesson are given.
