Abstract

The 125 isolates of Newcastle disease virus in the Repository at the University of Wisconsin have been recovered from several species of animals and from many countries over the past three decades. This collection provided an opportunity to study the usefulness of plaque morphology as a means of strain identification and to establish the extent to which these isolates were internally heterogeneous. The plaque morphology of 41 NDV strains was examined.
