Abstract

The differential ring voltage controlled oscillator (DRVCO) is a key component in various fields of communication and transmission systems with increased modularity and excellent controllability. This paper analyzes the different DRVCOs cell topologies and their performance have been interpreted in terms of frequency range, power consumption, phase noise and technology used, which allows the designers to opt the most suitable differential ring VCO for specific applications.
