Abstract

Childhood abuse has been found to increase risk for the development of several psychiatric syndromes, particularly in conjunction with subsequent traumatic experiences. It is possible that different forms of abuse have different clinical presentations close to the time of abuse. In this study we examined the prevalence and consequences of three different forms of abuse in child and adolescent psychiatric inpatients.
