Abstract

A differential response rate technique, in which the response of two electrodes of a sensor cell can be compared simultaneously, is described and discussed in relation to the normal technique used for monitoring the response of a single electrode of the Nernstian oxygen sensor. The differential response rate technique is simple and useful for comparing the response of various electrodes to a step change in the oxygen concentration but it only provides semi-quantitative information.
