Abstract

Ultra wideband (UWB) technology has attracting great interest in recent year and became one of the most important applications in wireless communication field. The requirements of low cost, low power, low complexity and longer operation range have driven the use of non linear communication approaches. In this paper, a new ultra-wideband scheme to transmit and detect information in a multipath environment using a simple transceiver structure is proposed; Differential Pseudo-Random Pulse or DPRP method is a family of transmit reference (TR) systems, and combines chaotic or pseudo-random and UWB technologies. The UWB transceiver system is presented, and the data rate and BER performances in both AWGN and standardized IEEE 802.15.4a UWB multipath channels (CM1 and CM5) are analyzed in order to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed system.
