Abstract
Real-time implementation of geometric nonlinear control structure on an industrial evaporator system simulator is presented. Practicality and feasibility of the geometric nonlinear control structure in an industrial control environment was shown through the ease of synthesis using symbolic design procedure and implementation of the nonlinear control laws, as well as the simplicity of the control algorithms. Robustness and superiority of the geometric nonlinear control was demonstrated through fast rejection of the unmeasured disturbance on the controlled outputs and rapid stabilization dynamics of the internal variables when compared to the existing linear control scheme on the evaporator system.
