Abstract

Klein is a 64-bit lightweight block cipher designed by Gong et al at RFIDSec 2011, which can be implemented efficiently in both hardware environments and software platforms. This paper proposes a fault attack on KLEIN with differential fault analysis. If one byte in the 11-th round is faulty, we show that two fault injections are enough to recover the KLEIN with 64-bit master key. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first differential fault analysis on KLEIN.
