Abstract

Using cDNA microarray we have identified several differently expressed and regulated genes in leiomyoma and matched myometrium of untreated cohorts and in women with symptomatic leiomyoma who received gonadotropin releasing hormone analogue (GnRHa) therapy. To validate the microarray results, we used Real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) to evaluate the expression of two genes, fibromodulin and Abl-interactor 2 (Abi-2), which were identified as differentially expressed in leiomyomata and myometrium and regulated by GnRHa therapy.
