Abstract

Serious inter-symbol interference (ISI) exists in non-line-of-sight (NLOS) wireless ultraviolet communication (UVC) system, which brings some difficulties to signal detection. Channel state information is of importance for the signal processing process to suppress ISI. In this paper, a joint channel state information (JCSI) estimation algorithm using Bayesian principle is presented, so that channel response coefficient and communication signal can be obtained simultaneously. Based on the channel model of UVC, the framework of Bayesian estimation to JCSI is constructed, and realized by using differential evolution particle filter (DE-PF) algorithm. Numerical simulations show that the estimation signal-to-noise ratio (ESNR) is increased by (5∼10)dB of proposed algorithm compared with the least mean square (LMS) and recursive least squares (RLS) algorithms. The bit error rate (BER) is reduced by about one order of magnitude compared with LMS and RLS, which is also smaller than MLSD.
