Abstract

Allergic diseases are increasing in developed countries with early manifestations as atopic dermatitis and food sensitivities. To determine the effects of prenatal diet on DNA methylation and trans-generational inheritance of atopy, we studied a birth cohort of children born to mothers at high and at a low risk of having an atopic child based on parental history.
