Abstract

There have been a fair number of books published of late on colorectal diseases, some of which are good and some only fair. This book, for openers, is good, with some of the most beautiful photographs of colonoscopic findings ever seen, plus photographs of pathological slides to substantiate the colonoscopic findings. The author is one of the world's first colonoscopists, having previously started his career as a gastrointestinal endoscopist. He further enhanced his knowledge of colorectal diseases by spending two years in studying their pathology. Each chapter discusses a colorectal disease as regards symptoms, diagnosis, and differential diagnosis. The courses of the diseases are described in detail, with pathological descriptions of each phase of progression and resolution. What makes this book even better are the magnificent color photographs of colonoscopic views of all of the diseases and neoplasms and photographs of pathological slides describing the features of each condition.
