Abstract

A systematic theoretical detail is presented for the angular correlation of Balmer-alpha and the cascade Lyman-alpha photons detected in coincidence with the scattered electrons after the excitation of the states of atomic hydrogen. The results are reported for the Stokes parameters and other correlation parameters for Balmer-alpha and cascade Lyman-alpha radiations. In order to calculate the scattering amplitude which relate these parameters a distorted wave approximation theory with different choices of distortion potential has been used. Theoretical results are obtained and compared with the available experimental measurements at 54.4 and 100 eV incident electron energies.
