Abstract
Child maltreatment may come to bear particularly during adolescence, when neural reward systems develop rapidly and psychopathology symptoms spike. Despite prior work differentiating maltreatment based on threat (abuse) vs. deprivation (neglect), no research has yet identified the potential interactive effect on reward processing. The present study investigates how adolescents with varying abuse and neglect profiles differ in reward-related neural activation patterns.
