Abstract

The doping positions of Au nanorods (Au NRs) impact on the organic solar cells (OSCs) performance was studied systematically. Although doping Au NRs into the hole transport layer (HTL) or the interface of the active layer/HTL could improve the performance of OSCs, the device with Au NRs at the interface shows more improvement with a short-circuit current density of 11.36 mA/cm2 and power conversion efficiency of 3.22%. The better performance is owing to the higher light absorption increased nearly 30% for the device with Au NRs at the interface than that of the devices with Au NRs in HTL.
