Abstract

The main goal of my work is to present the concept of leadership in a multicultural environment from the perspective of Actor Network Theory (ANT). Globalization, the development of technology and the Internet, and various types of crises are very important factors influencing the actions of a leader, as they cause new challenges to appear and the organization’s environment is changing. Another feature that influences the test of leadership skills is the ability to deal with culturally diverse subordinates. However, to achieve this, the leader must have the ability to satisfy workers. In addition, overcoming employees’ reluctance to change is an important element of their efforts. Leadership in a multicultural, especially virtual team requires adaptation changes from the leader, which was discussed on the example of various leadership roles: postulator, optimizer, or contractor or in relation to a crisis situation—three faces of a leader as a manager, artist, and priest. An overview of leadership styles from the perspective of Actor Network Theory (ANT) was presented.
