Abstract
Noise detection-based median filters have been widely applied to impulse noise reduction. However, the number of pixels misclassified is obviously increased in high noise density. To overcome such drawback, a difference-type noise detector is proposed. In image filtering, a noise detection-based adaptive median algorithm is presented. Experimental results show that the proposed filter can well remove the impulse noise and preserve more details of original images.
