Abstract

The use of preimplantation genetic screening (PGS) in IVF is rising, especially amongst patients requesting gender specific embryos, or “family balancing”. One study in 2012 investigated this population and found that the use of PGS in IVF increased implantation rates (1). To our knowledge, however, no study thus far has directly compared outcomes between patients undergoing PGS for family balancing with those with other diagnoses.
