Abstract

Results of experimental investigations of liquid fuel combustion in the regime of a twisted jet (model of a fire tornado) are presented. Flame radiation spectra were registered. In the chosen spectral range of registration (2.2–4.8 μm), six spectral intervals were clearly traced in which the main portion of radiated energy was concentrated. Using the ratio of the sums of spectral intensities in the vicinities of the 6 th and 3 rd maxima, we successfully distinguished the regimes of modeled fire tornado and free diffusion fuel combustion.
