Abstract
El trabajo tuvo como objetivo estudiar el efecto de la plantación forestal sobre la cobertura del suelo, los tipos productivos y el valor pastoral del estrato herbáceo. El estudio se realizó en tres localidades, en 18 transectas ubicadas en la entre fila, callejones cortafuego y campo natural, localizando 30 marcos de 0,25 m2 en cada una. Se determinó la cobertura de 172 especies y utilizando la clasificación de tipos productivos se estimó el valor pastoral corregido por cobertura vegetal. Las comunidades desarrolladas bajo plantaciones forestales presentaron menor cobertura vegetal. El valor pastoral de las comunidades desarrolladas en callejones cortafuego y plantaciones de Pinus taeda y Eucalyptus grandis fueron inferiores al resto de las situaciones.
