Abstract

This paper will discuss several facets of dietary influence on plasma lipids and lipoproteins. Recent developments that will be considered include, 1) the effect of fish oils on lipid metabolism; 2) the stimulation by dietary cholesterol of lipoprotein transport; 3) the interactions of dietary fats and dietary cholesterol; 4) the modification of triglyceride production by inhibiting glucoside hydrolysis; 5) the effect of dietary casein on lipoprotein and cholesterol clearance.
