Abstract

Based on stomach content analyses of 45 specimens of Nanorana yunnanensis from Son La Province, we identified 301 prey items of 23 categories. Coleoptera is the highest frequency of prey items, found in 36 stomaches. Prey items of N. yunnanensis are more diverse in May and October with 18 catergories. Insecta larvae have the highest volume of prey items (25,45% of total volume of prey items), followed by Mullusca (19,34%), Lepidoptera (18,60%) and Coleoptera (11,27%). Important prey items of N. yunnanensis are Coleoptera (Ix Index 21,28%), Insecta larvae (15,56%), Lepidoptera (13,08%) and Mullusca (8,40%). Prey categories in the stomach of males (21 categories) are more diverse than those of females (17 categories) and sub-adults (14 categories).
