Abstract
2-Azaallenium salts 1 react with cyclic 1,3-dienes to form six-membered heterocyclic iminium salts from a Diels-Alder type reaction. With acyclic dienes, mixtures of heterocyclic and acyclic iminium salts are formed; the acyclic products result from an ene type reaction.
