Abstract
The thiazolidines 2, derived from L-cysteine methyl ester and aromatic aldehydes, react with silver carbonate and DBU to give methyl 2-(arylideneamino)acrylates 1.these 2-azadienes undergo Diels-Alder reactions with both electron rich dienophiles and electron deficient dienophiles.
