Abstract

The adsorption of xanthate as a collector and dextrin as a depressor on pulps of galena can be detected “in situ” by the high frequency dielectrical method (0.4–100 MHz). The strong chemical bond between xanthate and the mineral pulp leads to a significant decrease of the dielectric constant, while the weaker dextrin adsorption, probably by hydrogen bonds, leads to a slight increase of this parameter. The competition between xanthate and dextrin is analyzed by dielectricity as well.
